The argument “if guns are outlawed, then only outlaws will own guns” is semantically stupid.

Because, duh, that’s what “outlawing” something means.

(note: I don’t think gun ownership should be illegal, I in fact have nuanced opinions on the subject. I am just pointing out the idiocy of this argument)
